Scovill button making machine
This is a cast iron, hand-press tool with a brass plate reading "Property of Scovill Mfg. Co. / Model SSP / No. 10375 / Waterbury, Conn." It appears to be a button press, cast iron, with a brass locking nut. A spring returns the lever and pushes the shaft back up. The lever is marked "BM 209" (Button Maker 209?) and the base "BM 210". It is undated but appears to be from the 19th century.
The base measures about 5 1/2" by 3 1/2" and it stands about 9" tall.
